OMD FWD: 9th June 2022

This week’s FWD covers the pushback in the UK on HFSS restrictions and laws covering advertising restrictions to October 2023.

The UK government’s delay on the planned restrictions for promoting foods deemed high in fat, salt, and sugar (HFSS) will increase costs on cash-strapped consumers and simultaneously cause confusion for UK local shops – as warned by the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS).

The planned promotional restrictions on HFSS foods include ‘buy-one-get-one-free’ and ‘50% extra free’.
