Apple expands 30% fee for Meta & IG ads to more regions: Beginning back in February, Apple introduced a fee for U.S. advertisers who use the Meta or Instagram iOS app to boost a post. The fee is now being expanded to all advertisers in all regions, with Apple retaining a 30% service charge on the total ad payment, excluding taxes.

EU commission says Meta violates DMA: Meta launched its ad-free subscription package in Europe in November last year, which enables EU users to opt out of ads and data tracking entirely, so long as they pay €9.99 per month. The EU Commission has ruled that Meta’s ad-free subscription plan fails to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
X rejoins GARM: Following Musk’s takeover at the app, X distanced itself from GARM commitments, which resulted in Twitter’s brand safety team moving on from the company. Now it’s looking to re-establish its commitment to GARM’s mission, which will see X re-committing to its pledge to uphold the parameters set out in the GARM guidelines.
