OMD FWD w/c 15th October
Hello and welcome to your weekly FWD,
This week sees an influx of new technology as platforms look to elevate their offerings and stand out amongst the crowd. Facebook announces a 3D photo format and gets double points for using AI to do it. For those of us that are forever trying to be in two places at once – how about making yourself into a hologram? Vimeo is trialing live hologram streaming, bringing in ‘volumetric content’ to the (creative and tech savvy) masses.
Research released this month on the topic of discounts and promotional offers shows that discounts not only play a huge role through the entire shopping funnel, but that shoppers are willing to exchange information for deals. The research showed that companies are also collecting more and more information about us in a bid to influence shopping habits and build brand rapport. Tesco, for example, is using Clubcard data to help people eat more healthily. Marketing for both your wallet and your waistline!
