OMD pledges to add disability to global business agenda

OMD, part of Omnicom Media Group, has today pledged a commitment to add disability to its business agenda by becoming members of global movement, The Valuable 500, which is spearheaded by award-winning activist, social entrepreneur and Binc founder Caroline Casey.

OMD, the world’s largest media network, is making strides in putting inclusivity at the forefront of its recruitment strategy.  The agency believes that by being the first media agency network to sign a commitment to The Valuable 500, it can continue to raise awareness and strive to ensure an open and inclusive workforce that accurately reflects the cities employees live in and the consumers clients are speaking to.

OMD’s journey towards building a more open and inclusive culture means focusing on areas of under-representation of which disability is one such area. OMD EMEA is one of the first regions to tangibly address this by joining the Government’s Disability Confident Scheme and gaining Disability Confident Committed level 1 accreditation.  This means that OMD EMEA has committed to;

  • Using social media, the company website and other portals to enable people to access vacancies more easily and apply in a manner that fits their needs.
  • Offering work experience and internships to provide everybody with opportunities within OMD EMEA.
  • Continuing to deliver unconscious bias awareness training to help eliminate bias and to raise awareness within the agency.
  • Empowering under-represented groups to speak openly about their accomplishments and educate fellow employees across the network.
