OMD promote Tobi Asare to Head of Growth two years after she joined the agency as Business Development Director.

The role gives Asare responsibility for delivering organic growth in addition to the new business and marketing responsibilities of her previous role.

Asare’s promotion to the senior leadership team follows a string of new-business wins, including ComparethemarketBritish Gas and Burberry, and recognition as Media Week Agency of the Year in 2022.

OMD has also moved up head of people Teresa Meek to the senior leadership team, crediting her for the talent and diversity development that contributed to the award win.

Agency chief executive Laura Fenton said: “Tobi and Teresa are world-class in their respective fields and passionate advocates of an agency culture where everyone can thrive and where everyone belongs. Both Tobi and Teresa have joined media from other industries in the last two years and show the fresh thinking and new ideas that come with that switch.”

Asare came to OMD from the financial services sector. She is a champion for diversity across the industry, has been named as a BRiM (Black Representation in Marketing) changemaker, and has blended her role with writing a book to support mothers in the workplace.

She said: “It has been a pleasure to drive new business and the agency’s reputation in recent years and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to expand my remit and play a wider growth role at OMD UK. I’m truly passionate about all facets of growth – for our clients, our people, and the agency.”

Meek, who joined last year from global payments platform Swift, said OMD’s “ambition and desire to improve the employee experience has been incredible”.
