OMD Australia has been ranked number one in the latest RECMA ‘Qualitative Domestic’ report and COMvergence ‘New Business Barometer’ report.
RECMA and COMvergence are independent research companies who publish media agency rankings on a global scale.
In producing the qualitative report, RECMA measures agency performance in areas such as new business wins, portfolio growth, awards, agency structure and expertise. RECMA has awarded OMD a total score of 26 points in the latest report, ranking the agency in the number one spot overall for the ninth consecutive year and firmly placed within the dominant profile.
Within the report, agencies receive a RECMA profile classification ranging from average through to dominant, with OMD being the only Australian media agency to consistently appear in the dominant profile since 2015 and receive scores of 24 or above since 2018.
RECMA has also awarded OMD an A grade in ‘Compitches’ for the seventh year in a row, citing that this achievement is unparalleled in Australia.
COMvergence produces quarterly new business barometer reports that assess media agency performance in new business including retentions. In the latest report that reviewed the full 2022 calendar year, OMD was named the leader in new business billings following the successful retention of several key clients and new client wins.
OMD Australia’s co-CEO, Laura Nice, says; “OMD is proud of our ongoing focus on building sustainable and equitable partnerships for our clients, people and media partners. This approach, underpinned by transparency in everything we do, is the reason we enjoy a strong client base with some relationships spanning 30+ years. It has also driven a big year of retention success for OMD, renewing our partnerships with Coles Group, Beiersdorf and Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pacific and strengthening our relationship with the NSW Government as their consolidated media agency. None of this would be possible without the incredible talent we have at OMD who deliver with passion and excellence in everything they do.”
Sian Whitnall, co-CEO of OMD Australia, adds; “Following a significant period of evolution, we are excited to see OMD’s continued bolstering of our product offering and elevation of expertise driving our partnerships forward into the future. By investing in these areas, we are delivering on the growth ambitions for our client and media partners’ businesses and creating exciting career development opportunities for our people. We are proud to be recognised by RECMA for our continued focus on ensuring we have the right expertise, leadership and resource in place to lead our clients into the future, and by COMvergence for our consistent new business and retention success.”
OMD’s success has been replicated at a global level. RECMA has ranked OMD Worldwide the number one media agency globally in qualitative measures and leading the market across digital, data and content expertise. COMvergence has also ranked OMD Worldwide the number one global media agency in new business billings.
Omnicom Media Group Australia, OMD’s parent company, has been awarded the number one media agency group ranking within the RECMA qualitative domestic report, with an 11-point lead on the nearest competitor.
