Monica Karo

Chief Executive Officer

The world is as big as you make it.  In her 18 years in Omnicom media roles, Monica Karo has contributed to the growth of important client brands like Apple. Now, in her latest role as CEO of OMD U.S., she has the opportunity to do as much for an agency brand as she did for those clients.

INSPIRING IDEAS
Before joining OMD, Monica worked at TBWA\Chiat\Day, holding several positions including Media Director North America and Chief Media Officer Worldwide. The heritage of innovation and idea generation at OMD draws from the heritage of Omnicom's creative agencies. This now coupled with advanced analytics, tools, business intelligence and digital at the core has delivered phenomenal growth for clients around the globe.

SUSTAINABLE RESULTS
Monica has been named “Leader of the Year” by the Los Angeles Advertising Agency Association, a first in the media community.  She also serves on the Board of Directors for Omnicom Media Group (OMG) and the Los Angeles Board of Governors of The Paley Center for Media.

Great teams work and win as one. In his role as COO and in leading the PepsiCo business, Scott empowers his teams to succeed by enabling true collaboration. This collaborative culture ensures different types of thinking are fused together to uncover unique solutions that drive our clients’ businesses forward.
 
INSPIRING IDEAS
Scott has 20 years of experience, working closely with industry-leading brands such as Verizon, P&G and The Home Depot.  To bring his vision of true collaboration to life, Scott has developed a "community-based" team structure for PepsiCo, in lieu of the previously siloed industry norms. This has been done based on the belief that inspiring ideas can and do come from anywhere in the business. In this evolved approach, Business Leads work together to strategize, ideate, implement and measure, bringing the right  expertise forward at the right time to solve specific client challenges.

Scott holds himself and his team to a higher standard.  He is focused on pushing the boundary when it comes to communication approaches and processes - never being satisfied with the status-quo.  As a testament to his leadership and the power of a unified team, the PepsiCo team has won over 60 industry awards over a two-year period.

Ben Winkler

CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER

There’s no change without pain. Disruption reigns in media, and only by embracing innovation can we and our clients hope to weather and exploit the new reality.  As Chief Innovation Officer, Ben is responsible for elevating innovation as a core strategic offering, grounding new ideas in smart strategies and holding them accountable with robust measurement frameworks.
 
INSPIRING IDEAS
A 15-year expert in digital, Ben made the jump to interactive from analog in the late ‘90s.  He joined OMD in 2011 after eight years at IPG, having built digital and integrated practices at both media-only and full-service agencies.  There, Ben created new client services including search and mobile; established centers of excellence in social and video; and built cross-training programs for all employees.  
 
SUSTAINABLE RESULTS
Ben is an expert at helping clients recognize the business value of new media.  Under his tenure, digital results, budgets and departments have grown exponentially.  His expertise has been sought from the Wall Street Journal and BusinessWeek, as well as the DMA and AAAA/IAB.  In his free time, Ben tests his mettle in squash and bar trivia.

Strategic insights, innovative ideas, and measurable results all lead to success in the West. Greg oversees OMD’s Los Angeles, San Francisco and Seattle offices, managing a wide array of global and U.S. based accounts in addition to strategic planning and business development.

INSPIRING IDEAS
Greg brings over 20 years of experience in marketing, media and digital expertise to OMD, having worked for Initiative, NBC, FOX, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), and Virgin Mobile. Prior to joining OMD, Greg spent the last several years at Initiative New York where he managed the entertainment and innovation practice, including the CBS, Showtime, AOL and Fuse accounts. At Virgin Mobile, Greg helped launch the brand and their pay as you go service in the US. He also spent a decade in network television for NBC and FOX, developing campaigns for primetime programs and managing several of NBC’s first marketing partnerships with Yahoo! and AOL.

SUSTAINABLE RESULTS
Named an AdAge Media Maven in 2011, Greg has been recognized for his track record of innovation and the role he’s played in helping to expand OMD West’s roster of clients, doubling the size of our LA office. Greg’s relentless focus on content, innovation and the integration of media has helped OMD become one of the most successful media operations on the west coast.

As Managing Director of Business Development & Marketing, Matt leverages his legal background and business expertise to understand the real issues that CMOs are being asked to solve, and designs solutions to ensure success.

Matt passionately believes that people are the difference. By working collaboratively with OMD teams and client stakeholders, he tackles today’s industry challenges. To drive improved business results in a data-driven era, marketers need to become more agile, their teams and agencies more integrated, their decisions dynamically informed by data and their ideas more creative and compelling than ever before.

With more than 20 years’ experience in media, technology and marketing, Matt has been recognized with numerous industry awards for his leadership, innovation and customer-centric approach, including Folio 40 as a C-level visionary. Matt spent 15 years at IDG, most recently as CEO IDG Enterprise, working globally with the biggest brands in technology to deliver innovative and integrated programs. He started his career in the United Kingdom and has spent the last 11 in the USA in a variety of leadership roles. He sits on the advisory boards of a number of early stage companies. Matt is a graduate of the University of Buckingham and a Qualified Barrister (Grays Inn London).
