With a transparent leadership style, Robert brings out the very best in all agency staff by inspiring loyalty and ambition, tenacity, curiosity and imagination from the bottom up. Having worked within the media industry for over 28 years, Robert uses his unrivalled industry knowledge to focus on the Agency’s longer term strategy and service, acquiring new clients, hiring and developing great talent and winning awards across the spectrum of the business including the 2012 Cannes Media Grand Prix, as well as the IPA Effectiveness Grand Prix with Adam & Eve DDB in the same year - a UK media first.

Paul Knight

Chief Operating Officer

Paul joined Manning Gottlieb OMD in 1996, during which time he has held a number of positions including Deputy Head of Broadcast and Group Account Director. He is now our Chief Operating Officer and sits on the agency's Strategic Board. Paul's primary responsibility is to lead and manage the successful commercial growth of the agency and to manage the day to day operations of the business. This includes leading and transforming the agency’s organisational effectiveness and ensuring we are investing in the right areas to ensure success over the long term.

Paul is also tasked with overseeing all commercial arrangements with our clients, whilst helping manage some of our key accounts and ensuring that we live and breathe our ethos of continually creating a difference in everything we do.

Amy Robbins

Executive Director, Head of People

Amy joined Manning Gottlieb OMD in 2007 in a stand-alone role tasked with looking after everything to do with “people” including recruitment, benefits, and inductions. Since then the agency has grown 60% to over 260 people of 4 different generations, and over 15 different departments requiring diverse skill sets. Amy now heads up a small dedicated People Team, responsible for ensuring Manning Gottlieb OMD is looking after and getting the best from its greatest asset – our people. She does this by continuing to adapt our recruitment, investment, and management strategy to keep ahead of the times and make sure we are hiring and retaining the best talent in the industry. Under Amy’s leadership, Manning Gottlieb’s learning and development programme has been awarded an IPA CPD Gold Accreditation.

Amy has 10 years' HR experience, and having completed her Masters in Personnel Development in 2008, is a chartered member of the CIPD.

Matt Thomas

Executive Director, Head of Social Change & Wellbeing Team

Matt runs the Social Change & Wellbeing team at Manning Gottlieb OMD which houses an eclectic mix of client business including Virgin Holidays and Virgin Active, Nissan and the agency’s Government interests.  Matt read History at Oxford University, played rugby until the first of his two children arrived (a while ago now!) but still holds a season ticket at Bath, is a Francophile and lives in Woking.

Claire Marker

Executive Director, Head of Communications Planning

Claire's career in media spans 15 years, 13 of which have been spent at Manning Gottlieb OMD. Prior to becoming Head of Communications Planning in 2010, Claire has held a number of positions within the agency, including Business Director across clients such as Nissan, Starbucks and Waitrose, and has experience across Travel, e-commerce, Retail, Fashion, Charity and Automotive.
In addition to specific account responsibility across a number of clients, she sits on the Client Service Team, as well as over-seeing the Communications Planning department, ensuring that they are happy, motivated, creative and efficient in the work which we do for clients.
Outside of work, golfing is a big focus, and she has finally cracked the elusive sub 100 round!

Katie Eyton

Executive Director, Head of Operations

As Head of Operations, Katie is responsible for driving greater efficiency throughout the agency, including identifying new remuneration structures and ways of working to improve productivity.
Katie has spent 10 of her 14 years in media at Manning Gottlieb OMD, building digital expertise and services across the agency. Additional to her Head of Operations role she also sits on the agency's Performance Management Team, responsible for training and best practice in Direct Response planning, with a particular focus on digital direct response and real time bidding.
A clear high flyer, Katie decided to take this literally by abseiling down Canary Wharf in 2013.

Chris Waters

Executive Director, Finance Director

Previously a Chartered Accountant with a leading finance organisation until 2002, Chris saw the light and left practice to plunge into the world of media. He joined Omnicom Media Group in 2009 in a senior European Finance role, and moved to Manning Gottlieb OMD as Finance Director at the start of 2013.
Chris’ main responsibility is to ensure the business hits all of its financial targets, and works in close liaison with the Commercial team on client contracts, pitches, and commercial negotiations amongst others.
Outside of the office Chris regularly attends Crystal Palace matches and as media spokesman for its Supporters Trust is sometimes on a TV or a radio or in a newspaper near you! He is also keen on wine, having sat numerous professional exams, and is always happy to share his learnings over a bottle, or two.

Steve Edwards

Executive Director, Head of Beyond

Steve has been a board director of Manning Gottlieb OMD for 6 of his 18 years in media, and has a breadth of management experience with the biggest brands across automotive, retail, and gaming to name a few.
Identifying a new opportunity, Steve set up Beyond at Manning Gottlieb in 2011. Beyond is a growth consultancy for entrepreneurial businesses that was inspired by a brief from a CEO that simply asked ‘double the size of my business’. This led to creating a completely new model of delivering media, working with the client in every way to create sustainable demand to achieve their business goals; from business planning and analysis, to acquisition campaigns, and identifying and implementing completely new creative approaches to solve business problems.  This approach is particularly relevant for fast moving organisations creating new sectors and business models.  Steve’s latest emerging sector passion is for personal data and pull marketing which has a huge potential to reinvent the relationship between consumers, businesses and so the role of advertising.
Over the last 10 years Steve has been attending night classes to achieve diplomas in marketing, wine and viticulture.  He’s currently putting these to good use building a vineyard from scratch in Slovenia.  Expect the first vintage / hangover in 2015.

Caroline Clear

Account Director

I studied English in Leeds University, travelled the world for two years, and fell happily into the world of media on my return.

Aside from my knowledge of the media landscape, the biggest thing I've developed is confidence. This is the perfect place to work to overcome shyness!

Be curious and open- Manning Gottlieb OMD's culture certainly encourages this. Never be afraid to try new things that push yourself and your client.

Fun, colloborative, open and rewarding.

Path or Journey
Drama, a stint in journalism, a degree in Economics, and brand planning and strategy over on client side have all shaped the role I’m in today.

Inspiration Tactics
Getting out of my head and onto the streets. London is jam-packed with new openings, exhibitions and events to keep me inspired.

I would describe myself as - strategist, magazine junkie, shoe lover, general muser, people watcher.

Entrepreneurial logic
Entrepreneurial thinking is punching above your weight, finding innovative and creative ways to exaggerate share of voice and gain attention, and not being afraid to take risks.

Passion in practice
I read anything I can get my hands on and spend a lot of time on blogs. I also benefit from sitting next to our crystal ball, the Head of Futures!

Account Executive, FUSE

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, everyone is a beginner once during their career. And the best way to learn is to do.

As a graduate I’ve had ‘Gradland’ training, and it’s great to know that even senior colleagues are still expanding their skills with various courses.

I love that even with 250+ people in the office the majority know each other by first name, perhaps because new starters run the Friday beer trolley.

The team ethos is fantastic, we all work really hard but have a lot laughs along the way, and always go the extra mile to help each other out.

The OMD Experience
Manning Gottlieb OMD has a very unique identity. Three years in the job and counting, I wouldn’t have made it this far without a genuine community with my colleagues.

Between deplorable dancing at media parties and a few ballads on the karaoke, there’s usually time for a drink at our beloved local, ‘The Dev.'

Diverse experiences

There is so much data out there, knowing when and how to apply it in a creative way is tricky. This job challenges your brain!

Sage advice
Maintain a healthy media diet. It’s in a world of constant evolution. Don’t get left behind.

Our domain
You’re constantly kept on your toes with vital decision making: smooth or crunchy peanut butter?
