Omnicom Media Group motors forward with the appointment of David Pinnington as Director of Sports Marketing for Omnicom Media Group, EMEA

Omnicom Media Group is pleased to announce the appointment of David Pinnington to Director of Sports Marketing for Omnicom Media Group EMEA, responsible for the group’s sports marketing businesses.

This key senior appointment further strengthens both OMD and PHD’s leadership position in this vital area. Sports marketing is now by far the largest non-traditional medium in terms of centralised client deals, comprising 7% of global media spend. Omnicom Media Group already has more clients committed to international sports sponsorship than any other network, and David will look to further drive the company’s new business revenues.

David joins with an unparalleled reputation within the sports marketing community following his six year tenure as Head of Global Media and Sponsorship Integration at Vodafone. David played a central role in the creation and deployment of Vodafone’s global media and sponsorship strategies, including numerous international sponsorship agreements such as UEFA Champions League, Manchester United, Ferrari, McLaren Mercedes, the English Cricket Board and David Beckham.

Based in the UK, David will have a regional remit, reporting into Philippa Brown, CEO Omnicom Media Group UK and Andrew Lord, Director, Fuse EMEA.
