Nikki Mendonça, currently the Business Development Director for Omnicom Media Group across EMEA has been appointed to the newly created role of President of OMD EMEA with immediate effect. This will see her take the reins of the largest and most awarded media network across the region which invests over $13 billion in media across 70 offices in 38 markets. She has been with Omnicom Media Group for over five years having joined in 2002 to head up OMD Europe’s Marketing and New Business programme. Since then she has contributed significantly to the group’s success by helping to both drive OMD’s acquisition of local and international client assignments and roll out the PHD brand globally. Nikki says: “I am delighted to be taking this leadership role across the region. Having helped build the OMD brand to where it is today, I feel an incredible loyalty to the people, the product and the future potential of the company. I am totally committed to our drive to succeed and deliver our clients better ideas and solutions to help increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their brands’ communication activity. This will demand a greater need for us to foster a culture of internationalisation, integration and innovation. With the talent, attitude and client base we have within the network, we are perfectly placed to take things to the next level.” Nikki has been in the media industry for 15 years. She started her career as a media planner/buyer at CIA Medianetwork before moving to Leo Burnett to run the media divisions of Kellogg’s and Procter & Gamble. It was during this time that Campaign sited her as a Face to Watch having the rare combination of sales and strategic planning skills. She then moved to Capital Radio Group in 1998 to run their strategic marketing division across 19 stations where she contributed to record profit growth and helped win numerous industry accolades. In her new role Nikki will continue to report to Colin Gottlieb, CEO OMG EMEA. Commenting on the appointment Colin said “Our business isn’t complicated. It’s about the marriage of huge resource, the power of ideas and the passion to make things happen to deliver great results for our clients. The challenge is finding people with the knowledge, energy, desire and humour to ensure delivery. Nikki is one of those increasingly rare individuals who fit the bill and I’m delighted she has agreed to take up this new position”.
