Kath Watson

CEO

OMD New Zealand CEO Kath Watson has never been more excited to be part of our industry.  She has led the evolution of OMD New Zealand to ensure our services and our staff are constantly equipped to understand consumer behaviour in this multi device era, providing our clients with better, more innovative strategies, ideas and campaign execution.  

As CEO, Kath’s role is to ensure OMD continues to respond to constant change in consumer behaviour and technological advancement and remain at the forefront of the New Zealand media industry.  Attracting and retaining smarter staff and agency leaders to deliver better work is a core part of her mission.
 
With 20+ years in the advertising industry, Kath led the successful merger of two media departments to create New Zealand’s largest media agency, won multiple agency of the year awards (most recently the prestigious Campaign Asia New Zealand Media Agency of the Year 2013) and was the first female to win the Fairfax Admedia CEO of the Year (2009). 

Kath’s lengthy experience and leadership in the communications industry means she is well equipped to help clients maximize their communication strategies with consumers.

Andrew Reinholds

Managing Partner

Against the backdrop of a constantly changing and evolving media landscape, media agencies too, must constantly adapt and evolve in order to become better business partners to their clients.
 
Andrew’s passion is to create and nurture a culture at OMD Auckland that ensures the agency remains at the forefront of media insight and understanding.  He also insures that our people are relentless in their desire to deliver better outcomes for our clients.
 
With a strong team dynamic and healthy competitive spirit, Andrew’s mantra is that a champion team will always beat a team of champions. OMD Auckland combines this approach with a culture that demands constant curiosity and a desire to make things happen, making them the benchmark for excellence in the New Zealand market.
 
Starting in media over eighteen years ago, Andrew has worked at some of the country’s top agencies – from media independents to creative powerhouses.  He has been instrumental in transforming the local media awards programme into a value-add for our industry.  In 2013, Andrew represented New Zealand on the Media Jury at the International Festival of Creativity at Cannes.
 
Andrew’s hunger to deliver better and smarter work for clients drives the agency and its people to consistently deliver insights, ideas and results that drive client business growth.

Zac Stephenson

General Manager

Insights that drive results are rooted in deep client relationships. As such, providing world-class thinking and service that drives client business forward is crucial to OMD New Zealand’s success.
 
Zac governs the 50-strong Client Service team in Auckland. He is tasked to deliver better resource, relationships and results for OMD Auckland’s client portfolio, while fostering a culture of continual progression amongst its people.
 
Zac’s media career spans fourteen years, three agency networks, and two markets (NZ & UK).  Zac has extensive experience with some of the world’s top brands, across a number of product categories, with a portfolio of highly-awarded work based on sustainable business growth through deeper consumer connection.

This experience, combined with Zac’s razor sharp focus on excellence infuses our teams with the desire to deliver outstanding outcomes to OMD’s clients.

Adriana Botha

People and Development Director

At OMD New Zealand, we believe that while good people deliver good solutions, passionate people deliver inspired results.  Adriana ensures that at OMD New Zealand, our people and our culture remain a top priority.

Adriana is an accomplished People and Development Director with over 18 years of experience gained from working in a multitude of industries both nationally and internationally. Adriana has held various executive Human Resources and Organisational Development leadership positions with companies like APN News and Media, Serco, Westpac Bank, Deloitte and Barkley’s (ABSA) Bank.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, a professional qualification in Marketing and in Business Administration. Her passion for HR has resulted in various articles and publications on change and transformation, employment branding and employee engagement and led to her involvement in the Global HR industry as an international guest speaker.

She brings with her a wealth of knowledge, creative and innovative solutions to grow the business through strategic HR initiatives and to engage our employees with our vision.

I was in a similar role in Cape Town so SEM, team management, client management, but also some seo and social marketing (display, youtube and facebook).

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT ROLE AND HAVE YOU HAD ANY OTHER ROLES IN THE BUSINESS
Initially my role was Search Director of the Wellington office, but in June 2015 my responsibilities grew to include the Auckland office as well. 

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT WHILE WORKING AT OMD
I’m quite lucky in that my favourite moment is a regular occurrence – it’s seeing the comradery when people from all areas of the business, juniors and seniors, come together to brainstorm ideas, work on piece of business, or socialise.
 
ANYTHING UNIQUE ABOUT OMD
OMD encourages a culture of fearlessness and while this often results in success, it does occasionally result in failure. In these instances we’re supported completely by our teams and encouraged to pick ourselves up, learn from our mistakes, and keep pushing ourselves to do better. 

WHAT IS THE OFFICE LIKE
As a whole the office is friendly and creative team who encourage each to push the boundaries and support each other when things don’t go to plan.

I went through the CAANZ internship, where the differing media agencies pitched to us as we pitched to them. OMD had the best pitch, hands down, and were quick to follow-up too.

I’m currently a Senior Digital Project Manager / Account Manager here in Wellington, working on multiple overseas digital accounts. I was previously an Account Manager, AE and Graduate in Auckland, working in the Dynamo office across a range of national clients.

I’ve worked in media since 1998, with a couple of breaks for maternity leave, in both full service & media agencies.  I started out as a Media Assistant and my role prior to joining OMD was as a Senior Planner.

WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO OMD
A great opportunity to develop my career working with talented people that I respect, on great pieces of business.

WHAT IS THE OFFICE LIKE 
The office has a great vibe.  The layout & facilities make it easy to communicate & collaborate, by all being together in one open plan space, with plenty of breakout space for meetings.  The team are great, we work hard, have fun, and look after each other.

WHAT IS UNIQUE ABOUT OMD
The people development programmes at OMD are something I haven’t experienced in other agencies.  The easy access to training and opportunities to upskill & gain knowledge is so valuable.

WHAT IS YOUR INSPIRATION
My children are my biggest inspiration.  Their creativity and fearlessness is refreshing, and they are a constant reminder of how quickly media changes – they think Facebook is for old people!

After wrapping up a Design degree at Otago, I spent 5 months in Hanmer Springs at The Heritage Hotel before moving to Auckland.

WHAT IS YOUR CURRENT ROLE AND HAVE YOU HAD ANY OTHER ROLES IN THE BUSINESS
Account Manager. Previously, Account Exec, Grad, Receptionist, Temp Receptionist.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT WHILE WORKING AT OMD
Working with Rob on the Young Lions competition. High pressure, not a lot of sleep, a looming deadline and a mad rush at the end but the feeling after hitting send was amazing and it was eye opening to see what we’re capable of with only 24 hours to do it! It made me approach client briefs differently after that experience.

ANYTHING UNIQUE ABOUT OMD
A genuine closeness within the teams. The friendships we make here extend outside of the workday which contributes to the overall environment and output of work. There’s a real sense of all working together to do great work and an understanding of how we all fit into that which I think is pretty special.
