Daryl joined Omnicom in 1998 to establish Omnicom Media Group’s first company, OMD, now a leading global media agency and recognized as the world’s most creative for three years running (The Gunn Report). In addition to OMD, Omnicom Media Group now includes another global media agency, PHD Network, and a number of media specialist companies in areas such as sports and entertainment marketing, content distribution, media barter, search engine marketing, insert media, newspaper and out of home media.

Prior to joining Omnicom, Daryl spent 14 years at The Procter & Gamble Company, where he was VP of Worldwide Media and Programming, as well as General Manager of P&G Productions, a large producer of US network television programming best known for its soap operas. He was also a member of P&G’s Operations Committee.

Starting at P&G in 1985, he played a leading industry role in the “unbundling” of media services from ad agencies into standalone media agencies. In the early 90’s, stationed in Belgium as the first head of P&G Media Europe, he consolidated the P&G business at a single media agency in 20 countries. Moving back to Cincinnati in 1994 as the global leader, he did the same in Asia and the US, helping fuel a trend that changed the shape of advertising services.

Daryl has received numerous awards over the years for his industry role, including Media Executive of the Year and Ad Age’s Media Maven and Media Innovator Awards.

In addition to his Omnicom responsibilities, Daryl is on the Board of Lion’s Gate Entertainment (NYSE: LGF), a leading independent producer of film entertainment.

Mr. Simm was born in Newcastle, England and raised near Toronto, Canada. He has spent most of the last 20 years in the US. He is married with two teenage children and lives in Scarsdale, New York.
