Mauricio Sabogal CEO Latin America Mauricio has dedicated more than 15 years of his career to marketing research, especially in the field of media. He started his career with AC Nielsen in 1990 as a Retail Measurement Service Account Executive, on accounts including P&G, Nestle, Wella and Nabisco. He was promoted to client Services Account Director in 1992 where his responsibilities included running the Unilever account. Moving to Ecuador in 1994 as General Manager, Mauricio was responsible for the foundation and organization of AC Nielsen Ecuador. The role expanded to include Business Manager for Media Research in Mexico, setting up the People Meter service and training. In 1995, he was promoted to Commercial Manager Media Research Latin America, with a remit for marketing and sales of Latin America, specifically across Mexico, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. In 1998 Mauricio moved back to Colombia working on the Homepanel service and as Account Director for Coca-Cola, joining MindShare in 1999 as VP for the Andean Region, responsible for establishing Mindshare in Colombia, Venezuela and Brazil. Four years later, in 2002, he accepted the challenge of organizing the OMD network in Latin Americaand has been CEO of the region ever since. During the following three, OMD moved from being ranked number 7 to now be within the top 3 largest companies in the region. This is accomplished due to the rapid expansion of 7 to 19 countries and the consolidation of essential markets such as Mexico, Chile and Colombia. |
