Aimee Buchanan

CEO

As CEO of OMD Australia, Aimee manages one of Australia’s largest and most successful media agencies. Aimee drives process efficiency and operational excellence across the agency, while continuing to push the boundaries of product development.

Aimee has over 16 years media experience in the Australian market working across a range of high volume Blue Chip clients, including major Telco’s such as SingTel Optus and Virgin Mobile. Thriving in fast paced categories, Aimee has a real passion for managing complex pieces of business, leading large teams, and working as a partner to clients in the development of communications solutions that leverage business opportunities. Testament to the scaling traction and momentum achieved across the OMD operation, Aimee was promoted to CEO of OMD Australia in October 2016. Aimee has been ranked in the Campaign Asia-Pacific '40 Under 40', as well as being named in the B&T Women in Media Powerlist for two years in a row.

Hugh Murnane

CFO OMG

Hugh leads Omnicom Media Group’s Finance and IT functions in Australia. He provides commercial input to the OMD executive team and he and his team service the finance, IT and regulatory requirements for all Omnicom media companies in Australia.

An experienced finance executive and qualified accountant, Hugh has held senior finance positions in Media, Market Research, Retail and Technology companies. He has 8 years CFO experience with media and research agencies having previously held CFO positions with both IPG and WPP. Hugh has completed acquisitions, mergers and integrations, set-up and run finance shared service functions and worked across a number of international markets operated throughout his 18 year career in finance.

Peter's 20 years media experience spans the UK and Australia. Ranked among the most Powerful People in Media and Advertising for the last 4 years, Peter leads over 400 media specialists across 5 offices, he is the Lead Negotiator across all Omnicom assets, and has been appointed Chairman of the Media Federation of Australia. It's Peter's commitment to specialisation and sustainable growth that maintains OMD as a perennial standout for people development and client solutions. Peter was recently awarded the 2014 Campaign Asia Agency Head of The Year Award.

Martin Cowie

People and Development Director

At OMD, we have long believed that happy engaged staff will produce the best work. As such, our people focus leads the industry and is a key differentiator for us. With five consecutive rankings in the BRW Top 50 Best Places to Work in Australia, and winners of the 2013 Mumbrella Award for Culture, Martin is the driving force behind our positive employer brand nationally.

Martin has 25 years of industry experience, including an earlier spell at OMD Australia as Commercial Director during one of our biggest growth phases. Having arrived in Australia 10 years ago from his role as Director of Mediacom UK, Martin was later Managing Director at Carat Sydney, before running his own Executive Recruitment and Training Consultancy. His industry understanding, coupled with his driving passion for people and development are invaluable to the unique OMD experience.

Chief Digital Officer

Responsible for driving and implementing the digital vision for OMD nationally, Stuart leads a team of more than 60 people across Australia. His role is focused on aligning our national offering across all states and multiple stakeholders to optimize best in breed product for our clients and keep OMD at the forefront of the market for technology and innovation.
 
A digital professional with 14 years’ experience in the UK and Australia Stuart has a proven track record of producing positive change and building and evolving digital departments and products within leading media agencies. Stuart is passionate about digital and technology with a focus on creating an environment where the best and brightest of the industry can thrive. Stuart believes that happy, motivated, and inspired people are the core to any successful business, and he constantly strives to recruit, retain and develop the best talent in the industry. Stuart's on-going passion for digital media coupled with an insatiable appetite for creativity and innovation ensures that our clients are delivered best-in-class, strategic digital solutions.

Melissa Hey

National Head of Trading

Melissa spearheads the leadership and delivery of executional excellence across best-in-market investment strategy and value management for OMD clients. She ensures that the investment team leverages media value at every opportunity to optimise our clients' strategies and budgets.

With 18 years in the industry, and a blend of experience across a number of diverse sectors from FMCG to Financial Services, for brands such as Mars, Subaru, McDonald's, Johnson & Johnson, Village Roadshow and Westpac; Melissa has focused her last 6 years and proven negotiation expertise on specialising in trading and investment. Melissa joined OMD Australia in 2011 as Head of Screen Trading before being promoted to her current role of National Head of Trading and a member of the OMD National Executive Committee. Melissa's progression to her current role is testament to her unique skill and versatility in this field.

Business Development and Marketing Director

Joining OMD Australia in 2015, Nathan has over 16 years' experience in the media and marketing industries working across business development, brand partnerships, activations and operations.
 
He has a proven track record in creating and leading successful integrated campaigns as well as developing and managing market leading partnerships and sponsorships. Nathan’s experience in delivering effective business development operations and innovative content marketing solutions, rounds out a comprehensive media knowledge base.
 
Having worked across clients in almost every major category, including Unilever, Mastercard, Bacardi, Harvey Norman, Optus, Rebel Sport, and Video Ezy,  Nathan is well known as a media all-rounder with a strong focus on client satisfaction and a reputation for getting the job done.

Kim Hamilton

General Manager, Sydney

Kim Hamilton is a creative and passionate media professional with a strong strategic and analytical orientation. With 13 years industry experience across Australia and New Zealand, Kim has a rich background in direct acquisition and strategic marketing communications across a number of industry sectors and blue chip clients. Starting her career with the Westpac Group in NZ, Kim managed the Youth/Starting-Out MarComms portfolio across all consumer banking products, before transitioning to Australia in 2006 where she gained a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry leading the Direct Acquisition team at Optus for a number of years managing data driven marketing campaigns with strong emphasis on ROI using performance media.

Kim joined OMD in 2013 as National Head of Performance managing a diverse portfolio of clients including Virgin Money, eHarmony, Ancestry and Radio Rentals. Selected as a delegate in the inaugural Marketing Academy; she contributes to the Australian Leadership Programme encompassing marketing, advertising and media. A natural leader in her field, in 2016 Kim was promoted to General Manager OMD Sydney, and a member of the OMD National Executive Committee, where she continues to help drive the agency performance from our people, for our clients, always delivered with integrity.

As Managing Director, Margie maintains a focus on our people and culture, alongside maximising executional creativity and value extraction for our clients by driving strategic initiatives which integrate specialist divisions such as Social Media, Strategy, Insights, Search and Digital into the heart of the mix while her clients enjoy sales growth.
 
Margie’s career spans 13 years in the media industry, with a focus on account management across a wide range of agencies and clients. Having worked in both full service agencies and media independents, Rob’s vision is to ensure media strategy and planning are a primary part of the creative and brand-building process and a collaborative approach to developing communication territories.

Rob’s 19 years in media has seen him develop insights across a wide range of categories including Tourism, Entertainment, Financial Services, Automotive, FMCG and Retail. Rob’s focus is on teamwork, ensuring that in an ever-changing communications landscape, our specialist expertise within OMD is applied to our Clients businesses in order to achieve their goals. EVOLUTION
I joined OMD’s Fuse Auckland in 2009, as a fresh faced PR Account Manager who was willing to take a plunge into the uncharted waters of Activation, PR & Sponsorship inside a Media Agency. Now, just seven years later, I am the Business Director and Head of OMD Fuse & Word Melbourne. Within this time I have been challenged, nurtured, guided, championed and celebrated by some of the best leaders, team mates and clients in the world, setting me up for limitless career possibilities.

PASSION IN PRACTICE
I swear by the importance of getting inside the shoes (and head) of every new client. Whether this is shadowing the new client for a day or spending time on their shop floor to ensure a rich and thorough understanding of who they are, what they do and what they really stand for. I have a poster based on Hugh MacLeod’s book “Ignore Everybody: And 39 Other Keys to Creativity” with lines such as “ignore everybody”, “sing in your own voice” and “nobody cares, do it for yourself” as it reminds me that we are all creative geniuses in our own ways and we shouldn’t be afraid to be so.

EVOLUTION
I started at OMD UK as an assistant straight out of university, with no idea of what the job or industry entailed. I’ve been at OMD ever since, albeit more recently at OMD Australia. OMD’s unique structure has allowed me to find my niche & indulge in my passion for Trading. As they say if you’re doing something you love you’ll never work a day in your life.
